Extended care is offered to the students of The Tidewater School as a service and convenience for parents. It must be stressed however that The Tidewater School is not and does not seek to become a day care center. The goal of the School is to provide a facility which offers excellence in education in a comfortable and safe environment. The integrity of the educational program will come first in any decisions or modifications with regard to the extended care program.

Parents are requested to follow the guidelines provided. Cooperation and adherence to these guidelines will insure that the extended care program continues as a service of convenience for parents.

The Tidewater School offers extended care for the school year on a contracted basis only.  Extended care is provided at an additional cost to the regular tuition.  

Before School           8:00-8:45 am       $935.00/year

After School for PK  12:00-3:00 pm    $2,725.00/year

After School Care is available from 3:15 - 6:15 pm.

Extended care may be contracted for minimum of 3 or more days from 3:15 - 6:15 or 5 days from 3:15 - 4:15.

3:15 - 4:15 pm        $910.00/year

3:15 - 5:15 pm     $1,815.00/year

3:15 - 6:15 pm     $2,725.00/year

Contracted extended care is paid in 9 monthly increments from August 1st through April 1st.

Parents will be charged for the next hour if they are late. The next hour will be billed if a child is picked up after 15 minutes past the hour.  There is an additional charge of $10.00 for each half hour after 6:15 p.m.

Please note: Non-contracted childcare will be provided on an Emergency basis only and will be billed at the rate of $8.00 per hour.

The lunch period and play period from noon to 1:00 PM is considered extended care for PK children and will need to be contracted.

Parents who arrive late for the PM dismissal will be assessed a $5.00 charge per each increment of 15 minutes. For example, if a parent arrives at 3:45 PM (instead of the 3:00 - 3:15 PM window), there will be a $10.00 charge.

Supplies for PK Extended Care: A duffel bag, small sheet, blanket and pillow are necessary.  Make certain that names are on each item.  They will be stored during the week and then sent home each Friday for laundering.

Children who are staying after 3:15 must bring a snack.
