PK and Kindergarten:

Parents are requested to provide a nutritional snack and drink (both milk or 100% pure fruit juice) for both classes on a rotating calendar. You will receive monthly schedules in which you will have only a few assigned days.  Please send in enough snacks to serve all of the children along with a few extras.

If your child has a food allergy, please send in a snack that can be kept at the school for those days s/he may need it. Please use care in preparing the snacks and know that we do refrigerate drinks and snack food as needed.

Recommended amount of beverage:

48 ounces of juice and one gallon of milk

Snack ideas:

Crackers, cheese, hard boiled eggs, cereal,

vegetables with dip, 1/2 sandwich per child, yogurt,

muffins, granola bars, fruit (There are some excellent

suggestions in the books in the Parent Library!)

Please provide spoons and bowls if needed for your snack as we only have cups and plates on hand in the classrooms.  Also, please refrain from sending in snacks which must be reheated.

Due to the increased number of children with peanut and tree nut allergies, we do not allow these ingredients in snacks.

Elementary Children:

Snack is not scheduled nor provided by the class for one another. Experience has shown that this age group often resents stopping their work to participate in a snack time. If your child wants a snack, feel free to place one in the lunch box. The child can then go and secure his/her snack when needed.
